WAGE: $33.22

JOB SUMMARY: Under the administrative direction of the Senior Accountant, this individual will aid in the daily operations of the business regarding inventory, accounts payable, sales, accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll and other administrative duties as assigned by the manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
•Create, verify, and maintain Government Statistics reports
•Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in a ledger or computer system
•Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
•Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying
•The incumbent may be required to travel from time to time to different offices or to local banks
•Process Payroll, ROE’s, T4’s, reconcile monthly general ledger, remit payroll, payroll taxes and prepare monthly and year end reports.

RELATIONSHIPS:
This position works with all departments including in office, Highways divisions and satellite office. Must be able to work independently or with a team.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
This position requires a lot of independent management and problem solving. The incumbent
will from time to time face complex problems demanding solutions that will need to be creative.

AUTHORITY:
This position has no independent authority and requires the approval of the Administrative Manger for final say.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIRMENTS:
• Completion of Secondary School is required
• Completion of College or other university courses in information technology, commerce, finance, or accounting would be considered an asset
