Job Summary
Under the direction of our Senior Dispatcher and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing compliance of our transport and heavy-duty equipment and its use, including ensuring that registration and permitting is in place, assessing employee compliance with rules and regulations, and initiating and implementing corrective action. You must be comfortable working independently and organizing your time to navigate the various responsibilities of this position.
You will also act as a dispatcher as required, for example, to cover for vacation and sick leave.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring registration and permitting compliance, including:
- Completing Truck and Vehicle registrations yearly
- Completing Registration and Insurance for Vehicles and equipment
- Pulling permits for Bulk Hauling and IUH
- Organizing equipment Inspections as required
- Completion of custom and bill of lading paperwork
Managing reporting and data entry to track compliance, including:
- Ability to attach work orders to online software in an organized and timely manner and communicate that to the driver or mechanic and the necessary Supervisor
- Data entry of fuel amounts delivered by our local and long haul drivers
- Dispatch drivers and assign vehicles when required
- Identify and assess employee compliance with rules and regulation, including hours of service and operation, and initiate, implement and follow-up on corrective action
- Create compliance policies around safety in the workplace and support the adherence of these policies and provide follow-up to those not following the recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A background in clerical administration or accounting would be considered an asset
Relationships:
This position works with all departments including Office and Highways divisions. Must be able to work independently and provide information in a team environment.
Employment Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary School
• A valid Class 5 driver’s License
