DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate and drive primarily Tri-Drive Body Job and Pup and Pup Units to transport goods and materials over long distances
  • Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes and cold storage
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled
  • Administer bills of lading and electronically maintain logbooks
  • This position may require individuals to stay overnight away from home on a rotating/route basis
  • Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices
  • Willing and able to perform emergency roadside repairs within their scope of knowledge.
Relationships:
  • This position works with all departments including Office, Highways divisions and satellite office.
  • Must be able to work independently or with a Team.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in active physical duties. Able to lift 50lb when required. Work Environment The performance of this position requires exposure to industrial areas which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as appropriate footwear, safety glasses, mandatory hearing protection. Industrial areas include hazardous chemicals, fumes, and petroleum by-products. Employment Requirements
  • Completion of Secondary School is required
  • A valid Class 1 driver’s License
  • Air Brake Endorsement is required
  • 100,000 KM of Driving experience preferred
  • This position requires regular drug testing- all personnel must be able to pass a DOT drug test and be willing to participate in random tests throughout the year
  • Must be in excellent physical condition

  Reports to: Mechanic Foreman Posting Number: 120125 Wage: $51.43 Position Summary: Under the direction of the Mechanical Foreman, this individual will aid in the daily operations of maintaining fleet vehicles ranging from trucks to trailers. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including but not limited to; chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems using hand tools and another specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
  • Testing and modifying repaired systems to meet manufacturer’s performance specifications.
  • Advise Mechanical Foreman on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements; complete a detailed report to record problems and work performed for every vehicle.
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings.
Employment Requirements:
  • The successful applicant must possess a Journeyman Certificate as a Truck and Transport Technician or an equivalent certification.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License with air brakes accreditation.
  • Requires lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
Desired Knowledge & Skills:
  • Full complement of tools, a tool allowance of 65 cents an hour is also provided.
  • Effectively communicate with employees and vendors to facilitate solutions and work around roadblocks.
  • Experience working on highway commercial vehicles
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Comfortable using computer software to track completion of jobs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Work Environment:
  • Sit, kneel, lift, walk, lay, and carry for extended periods.
  • Requires walking on varying surfaces, including hazardous and slippery conditions throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move product.

Local Fuel Driver and Bulk Plant Operator – Dawson City Term Position – 3 months, with the possibility of extension Wage: $37.95 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Safely operate Company vehicles. • Pick-up and deliver products as scheduled and complete delivery/meter tickets as required. • Assist in keeping vehicles in good working condition. • Load and unload products as needed. • Keep truck and pumps in clean and orderly condition. • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Knowledgeable of how to use software programs and other general office equipment • Professional, courteous and the ability to communicate with customers. • Able to work well with others and perform a variety of duties. • Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
