Position Type: Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary: $130,000 Annually (or $62.50 Hourly)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Strategic Management
- Formulate and implement the company’s overarching financial strategy to align with long-term corporate goals.
- Approve and oversee major financial policies, ensuring they support strategic business objectives.
Organizational and Departmental Oversight
- Authorize the restructuring of financial departments and senior staff positions to support organizational growth.
- Oversee regional and departmental financial operations and financial activities across multiple business areas to maintain consistency in financial controls and reporting.
Executive Decision Support and Reporting
- Provide the board and GM with reports and strategic recommendations regarding major business decisions, such as decisions related to investments, business expansions, financial feasibility insights.
Leadership and Talent Management
- Participate in selecting senior staff and company talent.
- Delegate financial responsibilities to senior managers and directors, ensuring effective execution of financial strategies and tasks.
Strategic Financial Control and Resource Management
- Establish financial strategies to control overall risks stemming from market volatility, economic fluctuations and other external factors.
- Leverage audit insights to provide guidance in identifying and mitigating financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls.
- Optimize the allocation of financial resources to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Develop and approve the company’s annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and financial health.
External Representation and Stakeholder Management
- Represent the company in high-level negotiations with external business partners and various stakeholders such as banks, tax authorities, and suppliers.
- Act as the key financial liaison of the company, ensuring transparency and credibility in financial reporting to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Works closely with all departments, including head office, retail, wholesale, logistics, and satellite offices.
- Able to work independently or lead cross-functional teams effectively.
PROBLEM SOLVING:
- Develops innovative solutions for financial strategy, policy implementation, and risk management.
- Requires strategic thinking to address market fluctuations and advance business growth.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires on-site work; remote work is not available.
- Travel between business locations may be necessary.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: 3+ years manager experience in finance or accounting.
- Management experience in a well-established middle or large business environment preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commence or related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
- Details: Exceptional attention to accuracy and compliance.
- Assets: Petroleum industry experience; audit background.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in cold climates and remote locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
